NOSE – A high-volume, piercing nose allows the board to slice through the water, and results in an effortless glide that maintains speed through bumps.
TAIL – When constructing the tail, we chose a balance width that isn’t too wide and creates little resistance, yet has enough volume to provide stability. Extra volume in the back of the board gives excellent buoyancy when pushing the board forward and maximizes speed while paddling in open ocean.
BOTTOM – A deep concave throughout the length of the board helps maintain paddling angle, as well as equal water dump towards the tail. This creates the ultimate glide on the air that runs between the sides of the board. In addition, we created two steps along the rails, enhancing the speed and glide time of the whole board. These steps are flattened towards the fin and tail of the board to make it ideal for buoy lapping, and to maneuver on ocean waves.
DECK – We created a dug-out area in the middle of the board that allows paddle racers to lower their center of gravity and get a substantial gain in stability.
